CCS REU Student Wins First Prize

One of the Center for Computational Sciences NSF REU students, Ethan Lockhart from North Carolina State University, won the FIRST prize award at MSU's Summer Undergraduate Research Symposium 2011 for his research poster titled: Modified Chambolle Method for Speckle Image Denoising. Ethan's research was chosen from over 50 posters presented at the Symposium. He is one of the five participants in the NSF REU Program in Applied Mathematics and BioStatistics, currently being hosted by the Center for Computational Sciences (CCS) and the Department of Mathematics & Statistics. The PI of this NSF grant awarded to CCS is Dr. Hyeona Lim, Ethan's research mentor.
